n Sremski Karlovci, where peace talks in 1699 lasted for 72 days between the Holy League (Austria, Poland, Venice and Turkey), the Peace of Karlovci Treaty was signed on January 26th. The countries that helped the negotiating process were England and Holland. For the first time in the history of world diplomacy a round table was used. Today, at the place where the peace talks were held, there is a Chapel of Peace.
